Vaani vs AiSensy

Vaani vs AiSensy: which way do your messages travel?

AiSensy is built to send. We are built to answer. That single distinction predicts which one fits your business better than any feature table will. Everything below about AiSensy comes from their own live site, checked 28 July 2026.

Outbound and inbound are different products

Almost every WhatsApp platform decision gets easier once you notice that the market contains two products wearing the same name. One is built for messages leaving your business — campaigns, offers, re-engagement, a list and a send button. The other is built for messages arriving at it — questions, orders, complaints, at whatever hour they turn up.

Outbound-shaped

Success is a send rate, a click-through and a campaign report. You are measured on how many people you reached. The hard problems are list quality, template approval and deliverability.

Inbound-shaped

Success is that every message got a correct answer quickly. You are measured on what happened after someone wrote to you. The hard problems are grounding in real stock and prices, and knowing when to escalate.

AiSensy sits firmly on the left. Their own headline is about broadcasting, automating and selling, and their published positioning is an AI-powered WhatsApp marketing and engagement platform. We sit on the right. Neither is a criticism — they are answers to different questions, and most businesses genuinely have one of the two problems much more than the other.

What AiSensy says it is

Read off aisensy.com on 28 July 2026. They are a large, established platform and the numbers below are theirs, not ours.

  • Scale. They claim 210,000+ businesses across 68+ countries, and name clients including Skullcandy, Quikr, PhysicsWallah and Bajaj Finance. That is a serious install base and it deserves to be stated plainly.
  • Broadcast and campaigns at the centre. Bulk sending across message categories, click-to-WhatsApp ads with an AI ads manager, real-time analytics and click tracking.
  • A no-code flow builder, WhatsApp Forms for lead capture, a catalogue storefront and in-chat payment collection.
  • Multi-agent live chat on unlimited-user plans — no per-seat charge, which is a real advantage over seat-priced competitors.
  • AI sold as add-ons. A drag-and-drop chatbot builder listed at ₹2,500/month for five chatbots, and an AI Agent Builder listed at ₹3,500/month covering 3,500 AI messages.

Billing is pre-paid, WhatsApp conversation credits are recharged separately from the subscription, and new signups get ₹50 of conversation credit. An Indian virtual number was listed as a ₹2,000/year add-on.

The markup is visible — and that is a good thing

On our pricing page we tell readers to ask every vendor one question: do you mark up Meta’s per-message rate, and by how much? AiSensy effectively answers it in public, which is more than many providers do.

Listed on aisensy.com

Marketing ₹1.09 · Utility ₹0.145 · Authentication ₹0.145 · Service messages free inside the 24-hour window.

Meta’s India card

Marketing ~₹0.86–0.88 · Utility and authentication ~₹0.12–0.13. Rates move every few months, so treat both columns as a snapshot.

The gap between those two columns is the platform’s margin on message traffic. That is a legitimate business model and we are not calling it a trick — the point is only that you can now see it and multiply it by your own volume, which is exactly what you should be able to do before signing anything. A provider who publishes a marked-up rate has told you more than one who quotes a bundled monthly figure and never mentions messages at all.

We pass Meta’s charge through at cost, which is a different choice rather than a morally superior one. It means we make nothing when your volume rises — and it also means we have no reason to encourage you to send more messages than the job needs.

Metered AI versus an agent that is the product

This is the difference that matters most, and it is structural rather than a matter of quality. On a broadcast platform the AI is an add-on: a monthly fee covering a bundle of AI messages, bolted onto a product whose main job is sending. For us the agent is the whole product, and the monthly fee is to run and improve it rather than to buy a quota.

The consequence shows up as inbound grows. A metered bundle is comfortable while your inbound is small, and it is precisely the successful months — a festival sale, a viral post, a campaign that worked — that push you through the bundle. The cost of automating rises in step with the thing you were automating. That is fine if you plan for it and unpleasant if you did not.

The second consequence is depth. An add-on agent is generally configured; ours is built against your systems — reading live stock and real prices, holding an item, issuing a payment link, writing the order into your sheet or ERP, and escalating refunds and complaints to a human with the full chat attached. That build is why we charge a one-time fee that a subscription does not, and it is the honest reason we are not the cheaper option to start with.

Where AiSensy is the better buy

Stated plainly, because a comparison page that never concedes anything is not worth reading.

  • You have a big team on one number. Unlimited-user pricing beats per-seat pricing and beats a build fee too, if inbox access for many people is the actual requirement.
  • Your WhatsApp strategy is campaigns. If the work is lists, templates, sends and click reports, buy the platform built for that.
  • You want to start this afternoon for very little. Pre-paid credits and a self-serve signup are a lower commitment than a scoped build, and for testing whether WhatsApp works for you at all, lower commitment is correct.
  • Your inbound is genuinely light. A metered AI bundle is good value when you are comfortably inside it.

Where we would argue for ourselves is narrower and more specific: inbound is the bulk of your traffic, the answers have to come from live data rather than a configured reply, and the conversation needs to finish a transaction rather than route it to someone. If that is not your situation, the honest recommendation is on the list above.

Read before you shortlist

Two things will change your shortlist more than any feature grid. What a WhatsApp AI agent actually costs in India separates the three bills every quote bundles, and covers the free-message windows that move a monthly total more than a subscription difference does. And chatbot vs AI agent is the category question underneath every add-on labelled AI.

Comparing us against a shared team inbox instead? That is Vaani vs Wati. The full set is on the comparisons page.

Frequently asked questions

Is Vaani an AiSensy alternative?
For inbound, yes. For outbound, not really — AiSensy is built around broadcasting to a list, with click-to-WhatsApp ads, campaign analytics and a catalogue storefront, and we do not compete with that. Where the two overlap is what happens after the broadcast lands and people reply. If your problem is sending to fifty thousand contacts, they are aimed at it and we are not. If your problem is that the replies to that broadcast go unanswered until Monday, that is the part we build.
Why is AiSensy's per-message rate higher than Meta's published rate?
Because it includes their margin, which is a normal and legitimate way to run a platform. Their pricing page listed ₹1.09 per marketing message and ₹0.145 per utility message when we checked on 28 July 2026, against a Meta India card sitting nearer ₹0.86–0.88 and ₹0.12–0.13. The difference is the markup. What is worth crediting is that they publish the number at all — plenty of providers fold their margin into a rate they never break out, which leaves you unable to compute it. A published marked-up rate is more useful to a buyer than an unpublished one.
Does AiSensy charge per user or per agent?
Their plans are advertised as unlimited-users, which is a genuine structural advantage over seat-priced platforms and we are not going to pretend otherwise. If you have a large team that all needs access to the same WhatsApp account, a platform that does not bill per seat will usually beat one that does, regardless of anything else on this page. What they do meter is the AI: their AI Agent Builder was listed as a separate add-on at ₹3,500 a month covering 3,500 AI messages.
What does AiSensy's AI Agent Builder actually include?
As listed on their pricing page on 28 July 2026, it is a paid add-on at ₹3,500 per month covering 3,500 AI messages, sitting alongside a separate drag-and-drop chatbot builder add-on at ₹2,500 per month for five chatbots. The structural point is not the price, it is the shape: the AI is metered by message and sold on top of a broadcast platform. That works cleanly at low inbound volume. It becomes the line item you watch when inbound grows, because the cost rises with exactly the thing you were hoping to automate.
Can I use AiSensy for broadcasts and an agent for replies?
Yes, and for some businesses that is genuinely the right architecture — but not on the same WhatsApp number at the same time, because a number connects to one platform at a time. In practice you either pick the platform whose primary job matches your primary problem, or you run separate numbers for campaigns and for service. We would rather tell you that than imply you can bolt both onto one number and have it work.
Which is better for a business that mostly sends promotions?
The broadcast platform, clearly. If your WhatsApp strategy is campaign-shaped — a list, a template, a send, a click-through report — then a marketing platform is purpose-built for it and an inbound agent is solving a problem you do not have. Buy the tool that matches the direction your messages travel. Ours is worth looking at when the traffic starts coming the other way and nobody is there to meet it.
