Retail & D2C
The WhatsApp agent that sells while your shop is shut.
Your customers already message you on WhatsApp to ask whether something is in stock. Most of those messages land after you have gone home. A WhatsApp AI agent — what most people still call a chatbot — answers them from your live catalogue, holds the item, and sends a payment link before the customer loses interest.
The problem
A shop or D2C brand selling over chat has a queue that never closes. The same four questions — is this in stock, does it come in my size, when will it reach me, can I return it — arrive hundreds of times a week, and each one needs somebody to open the catalogue and check. The expensive part is not the answering. It is that an enquiry at 22:30 gets read at 10:00 the next morning, by which time the customer has bought elsewhere. Most shops respond by hiring another person for chat, which scales the cost with the volume instead of removing it.
What the agent does
Answers from the live catalogue, not a script. Stock, sizes, colours, price and variants come from the same sheet or store your team edits. When you mark something out of stock, the agent stops offering it in the next message — there is no separate bot content to maintain.
Shows the catalogue inside the chat. Products go out as a native WhatsApp list the customer can scroll and tap, not a link to a website they have to load. Fewer taps between the question and the order.
Holds the item and sends payment. When the customer commits, the agent reserves the stock, sends a UPI or payment link, and writes the confirmed order into your orders sheet or ERP with the address already captured.
Follows up the quiet ones. A customer who asked about a product and went silent gets one follow-up message. This is the cheapest revenue in the whole system and it is the first thing a busy team stops doing.
What it plugs into
You keep the software you already run. The agent reads from and writes into it.
- Your catalogue — a Google Sheet, Shopify, WooCommerce or your own admin
- UPI or a payment gateway link (Razorpay and similar)
- Your orders sheet, ERP or order management tool
- Courier tracking, so delivery questions answer themselves
How you know it’s working
Orders taken outside business hours
We agree that number before we build, measure it for the month before go-live, and report against it every month after. If it doesn’t move, the build was wrong and we say so.
When it hands over. Anything about a damaged item, a refund dispute or a complaint goes straight to a human with the full chat history attached. The agent does not argue with an unhappy customer.

Frequently asked questions
- Is this just a WhatsApp chatbot?
- A chatbot follows the tree you configured — press 1 for sizes, press 2 for delivery. This reads your actual catalogue and order data, answers in plain language, and completes the action: holding stock, sending a payment link, writing the order down. The difference shows up the moment a customer phrases a question in a way nobody scripted.
- Do I have to move off Shopify or my current store?
- No. The agent reads from whatever you already run. If your catalogue lives in a Google Sheet, it reads the sheet. If it lives in Shopify or WooCommerce, it reads that. Nothing gets migrated.
- What happens when it does not know the answer?
- It says it does not know and hands the conversation to your team, rather than inventing a delivery date. Every handover carries the full chat so your person does not start from scratch.
- Will customers know they are talking to an agent?
- Yes — we tell them. Pretending otherwise breaks trust the first time it slips, and WhatsApp's own policies expect disclosure. In practice customers care that the answer is fast and correct, not that a human typed it.
- How long before it is live?
- A catalogue-and-ordering agent is usually running within a week. Most of that time is spent on your data — getting the catalogue clean enough that the agent can quote from it — not on the agent itself.
